An introduction to the history of the Ichijodani Asakura Family Historic Ruins and to Sengoku-period culture. Kiyoshi Kishida, chairman of Creative ASUWA, explains it all in a way that newcomers will find easy to follow, exploring the ties that link Echizen with Echigo.
From 11:00 — Asakura Kyogaku performance
- Numbers one to three: an opening drawing on traditional forms. The curtain rises with bakabayashi festival music and children’s taiko, followed by pieces telling stories connected with Asakura Yoshikage (for example, Appare Itozakura).
- About the artists: singing and dance by Cocona, Rina and Nanaka. These rising young performers, produced by Cain Nishino, present Yokai Ondo and the story of Aiomaru in contemporary arrangements.
